These people feel that worrying is productive, even though they’ll be the first to tell you that they’re driving themselves crazy because they can’t get these thoughts out of their head. I grew up thinking that I suck at science and math, and that I would never be interested in going into a job that dealt with those subjects. The low grades confirmed my belief that I was simply not good at understanding science and math.
The belief of a fixed mindset did not allow me to keep trying to learn, because I was scared of failure and disappointment.
