Some people actually mean a critic's review of the book. Storyboard That wants to bring all of the different kinds of book reports together in a much more engaging medium. Others want an in-depth analysis on one or more literary devices.

Students should think about what may happen next, where the character might go and what sort of resolution they would like to see.

This allows them to be creative, play with their own language and play off the author's storyline.

Middle school book report templates will often go into some detail about the themes of the book, but they will still focus more on what happened in the book as opposed to why it happened.

In college papers, and thus many modern high school book report templates, a detailed analysis of the themes and the historical context in which the book was written are going to become more important.

They should have a clear understanding of the characters and their motivations and know how the plot leads to the book's ending.
