So if you want to learn more about creative writing (and get a chance to practice), get feedback on your work (and give feedback to others), and socialise with other writers in Oxford (a great opportunity to step away from that computer screen...), then come along and see what we're all about! Generally we will be discussing each others' work, with shorter pieces being read out loud, and longer pieces submitted (and read) in advance. Our Community Rules Be respectful, be kind, listen at least as much as you talk.Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. Applicants are normally expected to be predicted or have achieved a first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours (or equivalent international qualifications), as a minimum, in a related field.

There is a strong element of one-to-one tutorial teaching and tutorials take place within residences and retreats, and relate to the on-going work produced for the course.

You will be assigned a supervisor who will work closely with you throughout the development of the year two final project and extended essay.

• Order some drinks and food • We work on anything we like - there are no exercises or prompts, this is simply a time for you to get writing • We stay until whatever time we like, but most people leave sometimes between 1pm-3pm View these as drop-in meetings, so turn up and leave at whatever time you like.

Some socialising is welcome, but please be mindful of people hard at work on their writing!

The research placement, a distinguishing feature of the course, provides between one and two weeks' in-house experience of writing in the real world.

The residences in particular offer an intensive workshop and seminar-based forum for ideas exchange and for the opening up of creative and critical frameworks within which to develop writerly and analytical skills.

The emphasis of the course is cross-cultural and cross-genre, pointing up the needs and challenges of the contemporary writer who produces their creative work in the context of a global writerly and critical community.

The MSt offers a clustered learning format of five residences, two guided retreats and one research placement over two years.

This is not a dating group, for example, so we would expect that members assume others are not looking for dates unless they clearly express otherwise.

What better way to kickstart the weekend than to spend your Saturday morning in the stimulating company of fellow writers looking for camaraderie and motivation in solidarity?
