This format is the standard for citing sources in research papers.
To be eligible for an award, a delegate must write two Position Papers, one for each of the topics.
To submit your paper, email it to [email protected] the subject “[Your Committee], [Your Country].” For example: “Philippines, DISEC.” If your your position paper is a CRISIS position paper, please make sure you submit these to [email protected] Papers should be 12pt font, Times New Roman, single spaced, and 1 – 1.5 pages in length.
There are three parts to a Position Paper: the heading, the content, and the works cited.
Papers should include a heading that looks the following: COMMITTEE: COUNTRY: TOPIC: SCHOOL: SPONSOR(S): NAME(S): The Works Cited should reference at least three key documents (not included in the Background Guide for that topic) related to the topic at hand, cited in Modern Language Association (MLA) format.It can be found at any local library, bookstore, as well as with your school/teachers and any number of sources online.A good position paper will include: Your Positions Paper should not include information that is irrelevant to the topic at hand.Also called Policy Statements, these papers are required at most conferences -both high school and collegiate- around the world.The guidelines for these papers relatively consistent across the board, giving delegates at HAMUN the chance to write at a higher, more technical level – the style of which is reflected in international studies programs and careers in diplomacy.A good position paper will not only provide facts but also make proposals for resolutions.To attend HAMUN 44, all delegates must write one Position Paper on one of the two topics on their committee’s agenda. 21st, 2019 * The position paper for GA Plenary and CRISIS will be due on Jan.
